Triangles in (E)motion: A Timeless Dining Table Design

Studio ANDRE VERROKEN Creates a Unique Blend of Art and Functionality

Studio ANDRE VERROKEN, a renowned design brand, presents their latest creation, "Triangles in (E)motion," a dining table that seamlessly combines geometric art with functional design.

The inspiration for this design comes from the world of architecture and geometric art, specifically concrete art. Studio ANDRE VERROKEN has taken the concept of triangles and transformed it into a series of stunning tables that are both visually captivating and practical.

What sets the "Triangles in (E)motion" tables apart is their use of full and semi-equilateral triangles as the basis for their design. The "Carrousel" and "Cathedral" tables, part of this collection, showcase the designer's ability to distill various forms from a solid geometric shape. These tables can serve as functional pieces of furniture or be appreciated as abstract geometric entities that function as visual art.

Studio ANDRE VERROKEN's approach to design is rooted in a tradition related to Arte Povera and Minimalism. The designer aims to create beauty through their own set of values and forms. Whether these creations are perceived as utensils or visual art is beside the point; they are meant to evoke a sense of timelessness and spirituality.

The "Carrousel" table measures 189 x 182 x 75 cm in height and is crafted from MDF (medium-density fiberboard) with a lacquered finish. On the other hand, the "Cathedral" table measures 100 x 86.6 x 75 cm in height and features a veneered American cherry finish on MDF.

Studio ANDRE VERROKEN's dedication to craftsmanship is evident in the realization of these tables. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted and computer-driven woodwork ensures precision and accuracy in the design process.

These tables have garnered attention not only for their unique design but also for their functionality. The "Carrousel" table was exhibited at the 6th Design Triennial "Belgium is design" at Hornu Images, Grand Hornu. The "Cathedral" table has found a permanent home in the prestigious 3 Michelin-star restaurant, "Hof van Cleve," owned by Peter Goossens.

Studio ANDRE VERROKEN consists of a dedicated team led by Andre Verroken himself. As an artistic advisor for his partner Arlette Gesquière's company, "GESQUIERE & VERROKEN BVBA," Verroken brings his expertise and passion to every project.

The "Triangles in (E)motion" tables have the potential to interact with various media platforms. They can be featured in magazines, analyzed in books, or even showcased in films, highlighting their versatility and appeal.

Started in 2006, the "Triangles in (E)motion" project continues to evolve alongside many other projects undertaken by Studio ANDRE VERROKEN. The design is a result of years of research and exploration, drawing on Verroken's background as a woodworker, interior architect, and designer.

Creating a design that tells a unique story has always been Verroken's creative challenge. The simplicity of the "Carrousel" table's realization, with its top connections easily assembled in just 15 minutes, is a testament to the designer's ability to bring their vision to life.

The "Triangles in (E)motion" tables embody the essence of Studio ANDRE VERROKEN's design philosophy. They are a testament to the designer's dedication to creating objects with spirit and soul, blurring the lines between furniture and visual art.
